MY 2011 *list*

It is kind of like a bucket list, but without the bucket I can only hope.  I have always been inspired by a bucket list…and the movie…and I have every intentions of making one!  A big one…with things that I know people talk about all the time but in the back of their (I should say our here) minds think that one day we will make those plans.  One day, I will make a bucket list!  One day this year!  That is a goal…mmm, can I add it to this list???  I think so!  There has been a lot of changes in my life lately!  A lot of changes in my family!  Most people would not take it as a positive thing, but I think I need to make it positive!  And I am starting by making a *list*.  So here is my list of things I want to do this year.

{1}  Work on graduation gifts for my kids…yes this is for when they graduate high school and move away…I know it is too soon to even think about it, but I am afraid that if I wait until closer to time, I will forget about my plans for it (you ever forget something?  happened to me!).

{2} Y.O.G.A.

{3}  Belly Dancing classes

{4}  Pick up my son’s guitar and learn it myself

{5}  Volunteer (you ALL know how involved I get with the Susan G. Komen…I want to take volunteering to the next level this year)

{6} learn sign language

{7} ride my bicycle to work 30 times

{8} make a bucket list

{9} read a book in the park on a blanket..in ONE day

{10} take a weekend trip with just me and my son

(11) take a weekend trip with just me and my daughter

{12} take a weekend trip with just me

{13} get back to running and at least do one 5k

{14} Cut WAY back on TV (I can already CHECK this has it has become habit already)

{15} Hire 3 different photographers to take MY family pictures!!!

Now with all that being said, nothing was mentioned about photography.  That has a list ALL.IN.ITSELF.  There will be some major changes in that aspect as well!  No details about that right now, as this post was more about newness in my life.  I already feel new!

2011

So today I woke up…with inspiration.   I don’t know where it came from?  With the end of 2010 I wanted nothing more than to feel excited, to feel overwhelmed with joy to start the new year.  Well, all I got was blah for 4 days.  Yesterday, I said to myself, I said “self…today is the 4th day of the year, and you need to get on the ball if you are going to get accomplished everything you want to get accomplished in 2011″.  Yesterday I read 10 easy resolutions about recharging, restoring, and renewing yourself in 2011.  Well, one that stood out to me was Pay it Forward.  It said, everyday, pay someone else a compliment each day.  Boosting someone’s confidence is a way to affect yours.  I highly recommend taking a look at them…maybe one will inspire YOU.  So I went on about my day not really thinking much about it…I archived it in the back of my mind for later…like I do with a lot of things.  Then TODAY came!  I got up, made my coffee (the day just would NOT start until this), checked FB…and there it was…IT.  My dear sweet friend Carol Anne posted her status update about paying it forward in 2011.  So out of the archives of my mind (at least I didn’t have to go back too far:)).  The post was this:

I’m following the directions..Pay it forward 2011. I promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment here. They must in turn re-post and send something to the first five people who post on there status. Rules are that it must be handmade by you and it must be sent sometime in 2011

That’s IT!  That is my goal this year….PAY IT FORWARD.  Not just by paying someone a compliment each day…but MORE!  For a long time…and I mean the last 31 years…I have looked for inspiration here or there, and found LOTS of it, don’t get me wrong.  I am READY to take a different approach.  I am not going to LOOK for inspiration anymore!!!  I am going to BE inspiration.  My new years resolution is this quote:  Be SO happy, that when others look at you, they become happy too (Yogi Bhajan).

So here is to a new year.

A new YOU.

A new ME!
